CliQr Announces Latest Version of CloudCenter
CliQr Technologies today announced the latest version of CloudCenter with new advanced cloud-based IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS) features that give organizations unparalleled flexibility, convenience and control across any cloud environment. Increasing efficiency while reducing costs, the CliQr CloudCenter enhances self-service functionality to streamline cloud-based application deployment and management.

CloudCenter now enables IT to provide role-based access to applications and clouds making it easy to migrate both existing and newly developed business applications to one or more private and/or public clouds. CloudCenter, which provides for governance based on IT policies and practices, also allows applications to be published, monitored, metered and managed within private app stores.
With the latest release of CloudCenter, enterprises will be able to deploy a single large instance of multi-user shared storage and dynamically allocate volume to individual users with the flexibility to adjust the quota per user. The out-of-the box distributed file system architecture is the first of its kind to be implemented across all clouds, making CliQr the first secure "NAS on the cloud" solution for the enterprise. Corporations will immediately see the benefits of a scalable-shared storage with improved efficiency of usage and reduced cumulative cost. In addition, CloudCenter introduces fine-grained control over access to applications and helps create a cloud based on users, user-groups or roles. This new feature, along with the reporting and auditing capabilities of the CliQr platform will allow enterprises to monitor user activities based on permissions, and maintain hierarchy of roles -- all from a single pane of glass.
CliQr CloudCenter now provides IT the essential tools for self-service access to various business applications via a private app store. Business users can use this marketplace to search applications by category or tag, and subsequently import to their app catalogue. The on-boarding of business applications to the app store includes any type of legacy application such as Siebel to big data/big compute jobs to any multi-tier web application that is designed for scalability. Additionally, the app store allows IT to define the cost of using the application for departmental chargeback, while maintaining the centralized control around permissions to publish applications to the enterprise app store.
The additions to CloudCenter make it extremely simple for enterprises to re-use existing infrastructure investments. For example, it allows users to as bring their own cloud account credentials and authorizes them to leverage prior service level agreements with cloud providers, and pay based upon the agreed upon terms for cloud costs. It allows not only importing virtual/application images of legacy applications into CloudCenter as part of a custom profile, but also scripts from cloud configuration tools such as Puppet and Chef into application profile description -- all making it a developer/operation friendly platform. Moreover, CliQr allows configuration and customization of cloud settings, including options to override default pricing and access to cloud instance types. The enterprise dashboard now provides stakeholders access to all critical information through a notification service, in addition to the multi-cloud console for viewing all activities such as deployments by clouds, users, applications, usage cost and cloud health status.
