ASRock Rack Introduces New Server Motherboards on Greenlow Platform
Nov. 11 -- ASRock Rack has released the new series of server motherboards based on Intel's Greenlow Platform. The new models are the uATX, ATX and miniITX. ASRock Rack makes use of their enhanced features to expand the market for web and storage servers.
Prior to the previous launch of Greenlow workstation motherboards, ASRock Rack introduced four models: E3C236D4U, E3C232D4U-V1L, E3C236D4M and E3C236D2I. All of the motherboards benefit from the improvements of the new platform. Compared with the predecessors based on C226, the new models support DDR3 to DDR4 ECC DIMM slots, 6 SATA3 to 8 SATA3, and PCIe 3.0 slots and USB 3.0 ports. The new models can be deployed in various applications from general servers, web-hosting servers, to blade type micro servers and power home NAS.
E3C236D4U/E3C232-V1L
E3C236D4U is in uATX, it can fit in rack or short-depth chassis. With the enhanced features from Greenlow platform, E3C236D4U is suitable for either enterprise or general purpose servers. Except for the SKU based on C236, ASRock Rack developed another model E3C232D4U-V1L, as the economic option for web hosting service providers. It is built with the entry-level C232 chipset, supports 1G LAN and 1*VGA ports for displays.

E3C236D4M is in ATX with 8 SATA3.0 ports and multiple PCIe slots. Through the upgrade to Greenlow platform, storage capacity and memory speeds have been enhanced. It supports M.2 for OS installation. There are two mezzanine slots for adding max40G network or SAS controllers. It is ideal for high density web service servers, video broadcasting servers and multi-display applications.
