Wiwynn Boosts 19” and 21” Servers with New 2nd-Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors

TAIPEI, Taiwan, April 3, 2019 -- Wiwynn, an innovative cloud IT infrastructure provider of high quality computing and storage products, announced the upgrade of its 19”, OCP (Open Compute Project) and Project Olympus servers to the 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors for exceptional performance and flexibility in workload optimization. Combined with Wiwynn’s expertise in high efficiency and reliable open hardware, the server fleet can assist data centers to drive leading performance and improved TCO. This portfolio supporting the new Intel processor family includes:

  • 19”
    • SV300G3 (1U), cost-performance and capacity optimized server for multi-purpose applications at low power consumption
    • SV302G3 (1U2N), high density server with versatile system configurations for compute-intensive workloads
    • SV5100G3 (1U), performance optimized Project Olympus server for multi-purpose applications
  • 21”:
    • SV7220G3 (2U3N), OCP -accepted server designed with high power-efficiency and optimized for compute-intensive applications

With the 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, Wiwynn server systems provide pervasive performance enhancement including higher per-core performance and CPU frequency compared with prior generation. The new processor also increases memory speed and capacity, supporting up to 2933MHz memory speed and 16Gb-based DDR4 DIMMs.

The new Intel® Deep Learning Boost (VNNI) empowers Wiwynn servers to deliver significant and more efficient AI inference acceleration without hardware changes. With the support of Intel Optane DC persistent memory, data centers can utilize up to 512GB per module for in-memory database, in-memory analytics or super-fast storage applications at affordable cost.

“We aggressively invest in new technologies to meet demands for next-generation data centers,” said Emily HongPresident and Chief Executive Officer at Wiwynn Corporation. “We are excited to boost our server fleet using the 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors to provide data centers with not only performance improvement, but also flexibility for diverse workloads stemming from AI, big data analysis and autonomous things.”

“Intel is a founding member of the Open Compute Project and community partner in Project Olympus,” said Raejeanne Skillern, vice president and general manager of Cloud Service Provider Group at Intel. “Our 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable platforms, delivered in collaboration with innovators like Wiwynn, are ready to take on today’s largest data challenges in the cloud, network or enterprise.”
